Why it took over a decade to earn a two year degree

A self reflection on the amount of time it took to earn a two year degree.

It took 10 years to earn a 2 year degree, and in this article I want to break down what that means to have bloomed at 30 instead of at 20.

At this point one might not even know what to say, sometimes as I practice stating this goal that just because another day, in my life. As degrees because less of a factor or useful. I just wondered why I did not take advantage of all the resources and opportunities available to me to turn my life around.

I was not into drugs or drinking heavy, it was not that that took me out of the game. It's the fact that I did not choose my friends wisely from the start.

I call them friends but what I saw even then was not that, we were somewhat all lost in doing things that was low grade. Like wasting time smoking weed and not going for anything valuable. Even at that level, it seems Im blaming my friend group and there is a level of lessons i need to learn even at this stage of mylife regarding that, but the more important thing is that even when they were doing important things, I was not invited.

I just took things as they came, and things came eventually when i got married to my college buddy whom I met around the same time.

If I could do something different, I would want to be the one inviting people to places I'm going, even if its the class I think would benefit their electives or degree.

Even now I want to do a lot of things but I'm not seeing many reflections of things that I did that uplifted me. To list a few taking therapy serious is one, making time to have fun is another like  going to a comedy show, and just time to travel and explore more of the things that interest me.

It did not have to take a decade right? I had no time management, I was 90% distracted. My days was just me looking forward to smoking weed and wasting time. The other 10% was me and my college buddy that I ended up marrying, hanging out but even then that took a long time also, as I got married in 2020. Is my business going to take this long also? is everything I have have to take a decade long for me to see the fruits of it, or is my main lesson forever just a bunch of failure to speed up the process to get to the goal I want in life.

What does this mean for me moving forward?

  1. Time management is key.
  2. Not getting distracted is another piece of it, so focus work.
  3. Tracking my goals, and don't get distracted is one more, good habits basically.

My current state is edging towards sadness, I can sence that I left my family in pieces that will take them a long time to repair.

I know I don't want to be poor.

For now thats all that matters, and if building this blog is what gets me there then thats what I'll do.
